Facebook: A Story of Betrayal
If you owe debt and have been nagged by collection calls, AND you have a facebook page, then give this a read. According to The Consumerist, debt collectors are using images of cute chicks on facebook as bait to lure you to add them as a friend, and then upon adding them, they begin the James Bond-ian task of gathering all your information up for the collection agency’s use. As to the veracity of this claim, I have no idea. But I don’t put it past collection agencies to resort to such tactics. When you owe money, the people who loaned you that scratch don’t forget. So what is today’s lesson? Just don’t be an idiot and start adding people you don’t know, especially if a female who is admittedly much more attractive than you attempts to add you out of the blue. Honestly, did you really think that your facebook picture would be enough to start pulling random females online? As Johnny Drama says, ” Slow down. We haven’t seen the underbelly yet. There’s always an underbelly.” So the next time you see that magical “+1 New Friend Request” in the top corner of your facebook page, think twice before adding the mysterious cute girl. She’s either really a man, or a collection agency spy.
