The Republican Budget “Proposal”

2009-04-01-gop_budgets_graph2_bobcescaAs the party of “no” continues its stumble in the media spotlight, Republicans saw fit to respond to one of President Barack Obama’s legitimate comments made during his news conference on Tuesday. President Obama made note that he had seen nothing from Republicans on the issue of the budget. And he was right. Up to that point in time, Republicans had done nothing but bitch and moan about the proposed budget. Well now, Republicans have finally put forth their own budget proposal! So how does their budget stack up against that of the democrats? Well, to say that it doesn’t is to put it lightly at best. The Republican budget has NO NUMBERS in it. So, their 18 page proposal, ironically titled “The Republican Road to Recovery” lays out no actual road to recovery. Nice work there. The Republican party is pretty much a two-trick pony, so without option A (cut taxes) and option B (deregulation), they simply blanked. Do they realize how much of a joke they are right now?

Update: Apparently the Republican Road to Recovery DOES contain one concrete plan. To slash the top marginal tax rate from 35% to 25%. Go figure.
