More Apple Woes

applelogoApple has been having serious issues getting its act together lately. In one of our previous posts, we discussed the decision made by Apple to declare jailbreaking illegal. Well, aside from the legal hurdles they will be facing against the EFF, Apple will likely have some other legal action headed its way. Most likely of the class-action type.

Engadget and other tech-sites have recently reported on the display problems that have been plaguing the new 17-inch MacBook Pro that was released in recent weeks. The screen grabs that we’ve seen show severe graphical distortions on the display, with strange artifacts crawling all over the screen. We wonder if this is again due to some fault on the part of Apple and their QC peeps, or if Nvidia is simply having further troubles with its graphic cards. Either way, we’re sure that the slew of early adopters are not too happy at the moment.

But, c’mon guys. You should know better than to buy first iteration Apple products by now. They haven’t been doing so hot out the gate. Apple products have been the equivalent of a blond model, and though we really hope that the problems are isolated incidents, it wouldn’t surprise us to find out that the problem affects a good number of purchased units. We wonder how many people actually felt the need to drop $2799 on a 17-inch MacBook Pro that you knew would be bug-ridden and problematic. It’ll be interesting to see how Apple plays this one.

UPDATE: It seems Apple and AT&T have implemented a new iPhone policy that limits customers to one iPhone purchase every 18 months. The shocking discovery was made by a person who lost his phone and went in to an AT&T store, willing to purchase a new one at the full unsubsidized price. The cause for the limit? Jailbreaking. Apparantly Apple thinks the jailbreaking community is such a problem that they are imposing the limit, even when it logically doesn’t make sense. Apple is definitely the new evil empire, and their customer service has gotten abysmal. Palm Pre anyone?
